Hair Care on a Budget

Who says that you should have to compromise on the products you use on your hair because you’re on a budget?

Not me.

As a teenager with no active income, I’ve tried and tested many inexpensive items, in the last year especially, and below are my favourite four products that I think others might benefit from, too.

They are specifically focused towards damaged, dry and dyed hair as those are the areas I need to focus on the most, but two of the products below can be used regardless of your hair type.

So, without further ado…

Red Berries Shampoo & Conditioner – £1 each, Pound Land

This is just a run of the mill shampoo and conditioner for colour treated hair with UV protect. It smells amazing and leaves my hair feeling in relatively good condition afterwards.

Alternatively shampoo and conditioners for dry and damaged hair are great at providing your hair with hydration that can often be stripped when bleaching or dying your hair, although be aware that non-dye specifics will fade coloured hair considerably faster, as is the case with any non-dye specific shampoos and conditioners.

Argon Oil hydrating hair mask -£1, Pound land

In addition to my usual shampoo and conditioner, I apply this hair mask once a week in order to give my hair an intense conditioning. It’s recommended that you apply this to shampooed, towel-dried hair and leave it for 7-10 minutes, although I tend to leave it on for half an hour to an hour just to make sure it’s worked as well as it can do. This smells very fresh and makes my hair feel soft afterward.

Argon Oil Heat Defence Leave In Spray – £1, Pound land

I love this. I bought this recently after my old heat defense spray ran out and I much prefer this one. Not only does it have that fresh smell that is often associated with argon oil products but I find that it sprays more evenly over your hair rather than covering a small area and making your hair feel wet and sticky.

Charles Worthington Colour Enhancer Heat & UV Protecting Spray – £1.99, Home Bargains.

I tend to use this product shortly after I’ve got out of the shower whilst my hair is still damp. As well as being a UV protecting spray, it also promotes up to 60% hair breakage reduction. This was one of the first products I bought after bleaching my hair for the umpteenth time, and it’s definitely helped strengthen my hair along with the other products I’ve used.

So, have you used any of the products I mentioned above, or is there another product you absolutely love and can’t help but rave about?

Leave me a comment below and let me know!

Until next week,

Goodbye.
