Rebekah Gillian was created in 2015 as a way for me to share my interests and hobbies with friends and family.
I was also looking for a way to continue writing regularly after finishing high school and not having English lessons to keep my nonfiction writing on track. Blogging was something I had been considering for a few years anyway, so it seemed like the perfect answer.
Since creating this blog, I have grown a lot as a person, and there have been a lot of changes in my life. In September 2015, I was diagnosed with autism, a condition which I write about regularly on my blog now. I like to raise awareness of my disability, as well as challenge the views people have about others who live with life-long disabilities.
Of course, I am still an eighteen-year-old with interests not dissimilar to other teenagers, and therefore my blog posts do not completely revolve around my disability. The light-hearted blog posts are still a regular feature on my blog, so don’t be turned off if serious posts aren’t necessarily for you. In fact, I blogged so infrequently when I first started that I probably write more light-hearted blog posts now than I did in the whole of my first year!
